Key Responsibilities

The Security & Cleaning Manager will be responsible for managing security and cleaning operations across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and supervising approximately 70 security guards.
• Overseeing daily security operations across multiple sites.
• Ensuring security personnel are appropriately deployed.
• Monitoring staffing requirements.
• Conducting security risk assessments.
• Investigating security-related incidents.
• Investigating workplace and operational incidents.
• Preparing detailed incident reports.
• Monitoring employee attendance and performance.
• Managing staff conduct.
• Handling disciplinary matters.
• Addressing employee grievances and workplace concerns.
• Supervising cleaning employees.
• Ensuring required cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Managing Injuries on Duty (IOD) processes.
• Completing and coordinating relevant IOD documentation and follow-up.
• Ensuring employees comply with company policies and procedures.
• Monitoring compliance with applicable requirements.

Security Management Responsibilities

A major part of this position involves managing security operations across several sites.

The successful candidate will oversee approximately 70 security guards and ensure that the correct staffing and deployment arrangements are maintained.

The manager will also conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats or operational weaknesses.

Where security or workplace incidents occur, the manager will investigate what happened and prepare appropriate reports.

Staff Management

Strong people-management skills are essential for this position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for employee performance, attendance and conduct.

The position also involves handling disciplinary processes, grievances and other workplace-related matters professionally.

Because the manager will be responsible for a sizeable workforce operating across multiple locations, candidates should be comfortable managing teams and addressing operational problems when they arise.

Cleaning Operations

This isn’t exclusively a security-management position.

The successful candidate will also supervise cleaning staff and make sure that the company’s required cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently maintained across the relevant sites.

Applicants should therefore be comfortable managing both security and cleaning operations.

Injuries on Duty

The Security & Cleaning Manager will also coordinate Injuries on Duty (IOD) matters.

This includes managing relevant reporting, documentation and follow-up processes.

Accurate record keeping and appropriate handling of workplace incidents will therefore form an important part of the position.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Valid PSIRA Grade A or Grade B registration.
• At least 5 years of management experience.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Their own reliable vehicle.
